How Tarot Works

If you have never gotten a Tarot reading before, the whole process can be a bit confusing. First thing I want to say is that anyone can read tarot cards and everyone has the ability to connect to the other side. Tarot cards are just a form of divinity like any other. That being said, some are more sensitive in their connection to the divine and I myself have spent many years attuning this connection in hopes of guiding others to their highest vibrations.

Secondly as Tarot readers, we are just reading the energy and vibrations of the cards, seeing how these cards are interacting with each other and using our intuitions to decipher the message from Spirit. Sometimes the messages we receive are not the ones we were seeking, but rather the ones we NEEDED to hear.

And third, getting a reading is like unraveling a puzzle. With every card that comes out, we get closer and closer to the full picture that Spirit is trying to paint and closer to the message Spirit is trying to say.

Some things to keep in mind when getting your first reading:  Time, energy, gender and zodiac signs are all fluid in Tarot. Let's go over these concepts for better understanding...

TIME: Nothing is yet set in stone. The very concept of time is relative to each individual and perspective is everything. Sometimes just knowing the "outcome" of a situation can cause a jump in timelines and a new outcome to take it's place. We may even make subconscious decisions and inadvertently change the direction we are headed, and thus, we change outcome as well- for better or for worse.

ENERGY: When we are looking at the vibration of the cards, we can be seeing your energy as the person obtaining the reading, someone around you, or someone that you are still energetically attached to regardless of distance between you and this person.

GENDER: As humans we all have masculine and feminine energy. When we love, nurture, create or plan, display gratitude or tenderness, then this is the feminine aspect of self. The esoteric, the Spiritual, the Shadow and much more are fostered within feminine energy as well...

When we set boundaries, communicate, take action, protect and provide for ourselves and others, we are displaying our masculine sides. The logical, the factual and the forthright are all additional aspects to name just a few, of masculine energy within the self...

Obviously, these are just small examples of M vs F and there are many more characteristics of each. So essentially just because the card is depicting a female in your reading, doesn't necessarily mean you are dealing with a woman per say- just feminine energy.

ASTROLOGY: The Tarot cards are divided into categories based on elements and zodiac signs, but these energies too are not set in stone. For example, if we have many Fire cards on the table it doesn't necessarily mean you are dealing with a fire sign like an Aries, Sagittarius or a Leo. This could just be the element of fire standing for passion, desire, creativity, action etc. Beyond this, it's not just our sun sign that comes in to play when we are talking Tarot, Astrology and the Spiritual... we as people have whole birth charts full of energies incorporating nearly every sign.

To recap, let's say we get the King of Swords in a reading. This could symbolize masculine energy, (not necessarily a male) An Air sign (Aquarius, Libra or Gemini in Astrology) or just Air energy iteself (Thoughts, knowledge, communication, etc.) This can also symbolize the situation at hand, someone's mannerisms and characteristics, a person's profession etc.

So you see there are many aspects that go into a Tarot reading. The most important thing remember when getting your first reading though, is just to be open minded to the information Spirit and the Universe have for you.

Now you're ready to get your first reading! Clarity awaits my friend! Namaste'
